Responsibilities
The Parks Section monitors and maintains the city's parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and community center. In doing so, the Parks Section enhances the appearance and image of the city and promotes a physically fit citizenry.
Edna's Shelby Park is home to the Edna Cowboys Baseball Team, the Edna Cowgirls Softball Team, the Edna Little League Baseball and Softball teams, and the Edna Youth Football Association.

The City of Edna operates and maintains three parks - Shelby Park, Children's Park, and Martin Luther King Park
Park Hours
The parks are open to the public free of charge everyday during the hours between 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Exceptions can be made for designated areas lighted for permitted, specific events such as baseball, softball, and football. Other uses of existing facilities after hours shall be by permit or agreement only.

Swimming Pools
The City of Edna monitors and maintains the city's public access swimming pool throughout the year; and the YMCA of the Golden Crescent operates and manage the pool during the summer season.

Pool parties are booked by contacting the YMCA at 361-575-0511.
Rules & Regulations for Using the City Swimming Pool
Rules posted at the swimming pool supersede rules posted on this website.
Anyone who fails to observe these rules will be removed from the pool. Continued violation will result in loss of swimming privileges.
Pool lifeguards are trained and certified to act and respond to any land or water emergencies! Lifeguards are trained to enforce pool rules and ensure patrons' safety!
Persons using the pool are responsible for their actions at the pool. Parents or guardians are responsible for the actions of their children. Pool personnel are not baby sitters.
