Water & Wastewater

Mission

The Water and Wastewater Department mission is two fold:

To monitor and maintain up to 41 miles of water mains, 42 miles of wastewater sewer mains, and 10 lift pump stations
To monitor and maintain the 1.8 million gallon per day (MGD) wastewater treatment plant and to dispose of 0.550 MGD treated waste in accordance with state and federal regulations

Goals

The department's goals are:

To establish an active preventive maintenance program which maintains the city's water and sanitary sewer systems in the most cost effective manner which reduces health hazards, property damage, and extensive repairs
To promote a cooperative atmosphere with other city departments and external agencies
