Dumpsters ready for City Cleanup Week

Were you planning on taking some unwanted junk over to the Kleas Street public works dumpsters this week for the City of Edna’s annual spring Cleanup Week, but forgot?

Don’t worry! There’s plenty of dumpster space ready and waiting.

The facility at 404 N. Kleas St. will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and again from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday for residents of Edna to drop off passenger car tires (no rims), furniture, mattresses, household junk, carpets, bagged leaves, outdoor toys, scrap metal, and scrap lumber in available dumpsters.

Remember, items that are not allowed include tractor tires; large tires; TVs; computers; chemicals; household trash; concrete; dirt or limbs; smoke detectors; fire alarms; and contractor waste.

Residents must show their ID before dropping off their items.

Officials said more than 100 cars have come by the facility so far this week to drop off their unwanted stuff.
