The City of Edna will be spraying for mosquitos through the weekend.
Spraying has already begun and will continue through the weekend, City Manager Gary Broz said Friday.
The city has received 6.56 inches of rain since May 20 and 8.04 inches in May, according to data on the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (https://www.cocorahs.org), causing the grass to grow and the mosquito population to explode.
Residents are asked to empty standing water from items such as buckets or planters to help reduce places for the mosquitos to breed.
