The City of Edna Children’s Park, located at S. Pumphrey Street and W. Live Oak Street, is getting a fresh bed of kiddie wood chip mulch inside of the playground area.
City workers removed the old mulch and replaced damaged barriers, lifting them to straighten and re-level them. They also leveled the backfilled dirt on the backside of the barriers to support the weight of the new mulch.
Two truckloads of new mulch are being delivered and spread on Friday, with a third expected to arrive on Monday. When completed, the new mulch is expected to be about seven inches thick.
