The City of Edna will be hosting Lifeguard Training on May 4th–7th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Registration will be held at City Hall on April 28th and 29th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Description, requirements and cost are attached. You can pick up a registration form at City Hall 126 W. Main Edna, TX 77957.

Call now to begin reserving the City of Edna's swimming pool at Shelby Park for birthday parties or other events. Opening date has not yet been set, but reservations are being accepted throughout the summer.
Call the Calhoun County YMCA at 361-551-2562 to schedule your big splash!
The contractors have hit a water line at W. Division and Progress Streets. Residents in that area will be without water for a while until the pipe is replaced.
We are closed today for Good Friday and will reopen as usual at 8 a.m. Monday.

Brackenridge residents to experience brief water shut off today
Edna residents who live along Brackenridge Street will be without water for about an hour at some point today, Tues., Feb. 17.
City officials said that construction on Brackenridge to S. Pumphrey Street to replace water and sewer lines has begun and will require the water to be shut off for approximately one hour today.
Crews do not yet have an exact time that the shut down will happen, but they expect it to last only around an hour.

Community ideas sought for city’s 100th birthday
The public is invited to take part in a planning meeting to celebrate the City of Edna’s 100 year as an incorporated city.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Wed., Feb. 18 in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 126 W. Main St., across from the Jackson County Courthouse.

Current Edna City Councilmembers Chris Jackson, Mike Dodds, and Amanda Friedrich all have filed for re-election to represent their districts in the General Election on Sat., May 2.
Jackson represents District 3, Dodds represents District 4 and is the Mayor Pro-Tem when Mayor Lance Smiga is unavailable, and Friedrich represents District 5.

Edna residents who live near Vanderbilt Road and Gilbert Street need to plan for alternative routes on Thur., Feb. 5.
City street crews will be cleaning out the ditch and replacing a culvert under the intersection of Vanderbilt Rd. and Gilbert St. that day, resulting in road closure beginning at 8 a.m. until the work is completed.
